2ne1 announce their plans for 2011 new album more work with Will.i.am and more

Earlier today 2NE1′s record label YG Entertainment made an official announcement on their website regarding their schedule for the forthcoming year, which included extensive plans for our favorite girl group 2NE1.
To kick off the new year, 2NE1 will be heading over to Japan for two months between February and March to officially release the Japanese version of their debut album To Anyone. Then they’ll be heading straight back to Korea, where they will release a NEW ALBUM by around May-June.
Meanwhile, their US launch is currently without a concrete release date due to Will.i.am being “extremely busy” promoting the latest Black Eyed Peas album.  However, Will has still been keeping in contact with the girls, watching their reality show 2NE1 TV religiously and even calling them recently to check how they’ve been. In the meantime, he’ll be working on more new songs for the girls. [Source]
YG Entertainment also mentioned something else interesting, stating that they’re hoping to cut down promotional appearances for their roster out of “concern for their artists”. They go into more detail, explaining how much work a lot of this promotion entails for the artist, and that they want their artists to be more rested and get more sleep. We’ve all seen the recent headlines regarding K-Pop Idols being severely overworked, especially those signed with SM Entertainment, so it’s fantastic to see YG taking this on board and putting their artist’s health first.
It looks like 2NE1′s 2011 is going to be even more jam packed than this year was. Judging by YG’s report, it seems like they’ll make their American debut towards the end of the 2011, as K-Pop album promotions don’t run for that long so they’ll only have to plug their Korean sophomore album for about 2 months. This is also good news in regards to Will.i.am, as it shows that he wants to focus his full attention on the group rather than just throwing them out in the US for a half-assed launch.
In the meantime, we get a brand new 2NE1 album in 6 months!
