LOVE seems to change so easily, In place of our own greed, a painful scar is left, Gotta let you go And please don’t cry
I guess I was not really the person for you I couldn’t hold back my stupid heart Which pained you And please don’t cry
Refrain: Here is the end for the both of us, And until the world would allow our love then,
Chorus: It’s okay baby please don’t cry, This long journey is about to end. But someday, we will meet again, In the next life, we will see each other again
Verse Two: Everyday, we are blinded by our anger, What we were fighting about every minute, I cried every night, Baby I cried
All the long nights I stayed up late crying, I spent them all alone Baby I cried
Refrain: Here is the end for the both of us, And until the world would allow our love then,
Chorus: It’s okay baby please don’t cry, This long journey is about to end. But someday, we will meet again, In the next life, we will see each other again
Bridge:
Sometimes, when tears come to me, I remember our beautiful memories I hope that you won’t be hurt more, And please don’t cry
Chorus: It’s okay baby please don’t cry, This long journey is about to end. But someday, we will meet again, In the next life, we will see each other again
ark Bom on the set of her new solo "Don't Cry"
it turns out its kind of like a short film
storyline:
The MV is themed after a lost love, and plays out like a short movie of another meeting with her (Park Bom’s) love.
Park Bom is portrayed as a celebrity in the MV in the midst of a photo shoot. She reminisces of a man, her boyfriend, (emphasized by her “Couple Ring” she is wearing) as she prepares for her photo shoot. Unknown to the viewer is that this man has already passed away and she is thinking about her long lost love.
As she sits in the car she sees an illusion of her love disappearing into the mist of the set. She runs off the set chasing after this illusion. She is led down a stony corridor towards an unknown door and steps into a new world which represents a state of purgatory. As she walks into this world she is led by a butterfly, another form of her boyfriend, into a rustic garden. As the butterfly disappears her lost love appears standing afar waiting for her.
She runs into his arms, but soon realizes that this is her final goodbye as he gives her his promise ring. He turns back into the form of a butterfly and flies off. The lyrics to the song state “see you in the next world” as you are left with the image of her returning back to reality but this time with both rings in hand.
Will 2011 be the year the hallyu idols make a difference? Among the hallyu groups, YG‘s male and female groups, Big Bang and 2NE1 have started their activities and have shown their confidence by saying, “We will definitely succeed on the Japanese stage.” YG’s president, Yang Hyun Seok, have commented on the activities at Japan.
“Starting in May, for about 2 months, Big Bang will hold a Japan tour concert and they’re preparing for it. Right now, they’ve been going to Japan once a week and have been promoting a small out but starting in 2011, they’ll be more aggressive and offensive in their promotion tactics.”
Following Big Bang and 2NE1, they’re not your usual hallyu idol or your girl group because they’ve split up their promotion schedule so that they’ll be able to promote both inJapan and Korea, making their promotion techniques unique.
President Yang continued by saying,
“The proposal of 2NE1′s debut in Japan was proposed since last year. But because they’re a group that debuted not too long ago and are still rookies, we believed it was best to focus our attention on promoting them in Korea so it has been a bit late. After completely finishing their activities for their first full length album, they will officially debut in Japan during February.”
But what are his thoughts on the success of Big Bang and 2NE1 in the Japanese industry. For Big Bang, he said,
“It was suggested with our partner in Japan that we split the promotions in Japan and Korea and that the focus on promoting one thing at a time. They’ll promote their Korean album during March and April and their Japanese concert will be during May and June, along with other promotions, and from July through September, they’ll promote another Korean album and from October to November, they’ll promote another Japanese album. They’re well known in Korea already and in Japan, they’re getting to that point so we believe it would be best to focus on their promotions and we believe by doing that, we’ll get good results.”
Truthfully, before Big Bang started their official promotion in Japan, starting in early 2011, many fans have been interested already and they’ve been awarded 2 years straight with the Japanese Record award.
In the case of 2NE1, they have formed a partnership with TVXQ’s company, Avex, and already, their future in Japan seems bright. President Yang said, “The owner of Avex have taken a liking of 2NE1 for a while and they proposed on working with 2NE1 so the staff of YG have been anticipating greatly for 2NE1′s debut in Japan.”
Earlier today 2NE1′s record label YG Entertainment made an official announcement on their website regarding their schedule for the forthcoming year, which included extensive plans for our favorite girl group 2NE1.
To kick off the new year, 2NE1 will be heading over to Japan for two months between February and March to officially release the Japanese version of their debut album To Anyone. Then they’ll be heading straight back to Korea, where they will release a NEW ALBUM by around May-June.
Meanwhile, their US launch is currently without a concrete release date due to Will.i.am being “extremely busy” promoting the latest Black Eyed Peas album. However, Will has still been keeping in contact with the girls, watching their reality show 2NE1 TV religiously and even calling them recently to check how they’ve been. In the meantime, he’ll be working on more new songs for the girls. [Source]
YG Entertainment also mentioned something else interesting, stating that they’re hoping to cut down promotional appearances for their roster out of “concern for their artists”. They go into more detail, explaining how much work a lot of this promotion entails for the artist, and that they want their artists to be more rested and get more sleep. We’ve all seen the recent headlines regarding K-Pop Idols being severely overworked, especially those signed with SM Entertainment, so it’s fantastic to see YG taking this on board and putting their artist’s health first.
It looks like 2NE1′s 2011 is going to be even more jam packed than this year was. Judging by YG’s report, it seems like they’ll make their American debut towards the end of the 2011, as K-Pop album promotions don’t run for that long so they’ll only have to plug their Korean sophomore album for about 2 months. This is also good news in regards to Will.i.am, as it shows that he wants to focus his full attention on the group rather than just throwing them out in the US for a half-assed launch.
In the meantime, we get a brand new 2NE1 album in 6 months!
